Semi Senso est un film de science fiction tourné avec la collaboration de 5 habitant.e.s de la région du Lac d’Orta dans le Piemont en Italie. Il est le fruit d’une résidence d’un mois en immersion dans le paysage, à la rencontre de “l’eau qui respire”.
Ses protagonistes évoluent dans un monde qui n’est ni dans le passé, ni dans le présent, ni dans le futur, mais à l’interstice entre plusieurs temps. On y entrevoit une “post-apocalypse utopique”. Dans cette dimension spéculative les êtres jouent et font la sieste tout le jour, mange des fruits et apprennent à se rencontrer sans aucune nécessité de productivité : ils sont juste présent.e.s au monde. A partir de ces états de présence ils ont la possibilité de visiter d’autres dimensions spatio-temporelles où ils rencontrent “l’oracle du périphérique”, interprété par le chorégraphe Sherwood Chen, qui leur délivre des messages en langue des signes.
Semi Senso a été généré à partir d’improvisations collectives, à l’interstice entre fiction et video documentaire. Chaque action y est captée en une prise.
En amont du tournage les acteur.ices ont participé à un processus de recherche écosomatique à l’intérieur du territoire piemontais. Par le biais de protocoles de mises en présence, il et elles ont investigué des états de contact et d’écoute, lesquels ont été ensuite réinvoqués dans le film.

Semi Senso is a science-fiction movie shot with the participation of 5 inhabitants from the region of Lago d’Orta, in the Piemonte in Italy. It is the result of a one month immersion in the landscape, searching for “the breathing waters”.
Its characters are evolving inside a world that is not in the future, nor past, nor present, but between times. It depicts a “utopic post-apocalypse”. In this speculative dimension, humans could just eat fruits, sleep and play all day long. Without any need of productivity : they are just present to the world. Through this state of presence they can explore other spatio-temporal dimensions, where they meet the “Oracle of the ring road” (interpreted by the choreographer Sherwood Chen), who delivers them messages in sign language.
Semi Senso have been created from collective improvisation, in the interstice between fiction and documentary. Every action is captured in one shot.
Before the shooting, the actor and actresses have been involved in a process of ecosomatic research inside the piemontese territory. Through experimental protocols, they investiguated states of contact and listening. These states have been then re-invoked inside the film.
